Happy 4th of July

by Michelle Bala on Jul 03 2022
Hello there! Michelle here, wishing all our fellow American's a very Happy 4th of July! There is still time to shop today's sale and possibly grab the items I used for this card!!  I used 3 shades of cardstock, red, white and blue. I die cut the Slim Line Curvy Rainbow Die using the 3 cardstocks. For the blue cardstock, I die cut the slim line scalloped rectangle, Slim Line Scallop Frames, first then I die cut the rainbow inside. I filled the clouds with Stars and Stripes Sequin Mix Plus.  I added Happy 4th using the alphabet dies from 5x7 Double Stitched Rectangle Dies. I die cut them using black cardstock and added some shimmer with stickles glitter glue. I assembled the die cut inlay with Extra Wide Foam. Thanks for stopping by! Michelle

Hello!   I had a wonderful trip to Korea last few weeks. I almost forgot to share this colorful Hummingbird's Song slimline card to you.   I stamped the hummingbirds images with 6 different colors. ( Stamp set- A Hummingbird's Song- New release of June)   I inked a red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple color on the hummingbird stamp, after blending the color and color boundaries, stamp on the white card stock and die cut the image.  (I used Inkon3 mini cube inks)   Place the birds of each color underneath, place the birds blended in different colors on top of them, and paste them on the cards.   I decorated with sequins around the birds.   Thank you for stopping by! and Happy Stamping!        Supplies

Kindness Matters Foliage

by Michelle Bala on May 23 2022
Hello there! Michelle here, sharing a mini slim line card using the new Grunge Foliage  stamp set. I am sold on the mini slim line design and the Picket Fence Mini Slim Line Double Stitched Rectangles Die Cutting System is my absolute favorite go to!!!  I use my Misti to do all my stamping and it comes in very handy for the seamless stamps. After I stamped the background with Goddess Green Ink on 3 ink, I added some paint splatter to the kraft cardstock panel. When dried, I aasembled the panels to the card base. I propped up the layer between the green cardstock and black card base with Foam Tape. I embossed the perfect sentiment, Kindness Matters, from the stamp set Fancy Daily Sentiments and Coordinating Die with silver embossing powder. Some finishing touches include Green Seas Sequin Mix and black twine. Thanks so much for stopping by for a peek!!! Hope you have a great week! Michelle

Iconic Beauty Scarlett card

by Laura Nistal on May 19 2022
Hello everyone!! I'm Laura and I'm very excited to make my first post on the Picket Fence Studios blog showing this Mix Media card that I hope will inspire you! First I started stamping the "Iconic Beauty Scarlett" stamp with the "Black hybrid ink pad" which has a great definition!! Next I painted the girl with alcohol markers, and then I used a fine black marker and a white marker to highlight the details. Now we will prepare the background: for this I used a beige cardboard to which I added the "Grunge wall 6x6 stencil" with distress oxide Fired Brick ink. I also added the "Iconic Beauty Scarlett" stamp sentiment and "Slimline hexagon Randomness" to the background using the "Black hybrid ink pad" again. Finally, I cut the "Thank You Word Topper Die" out of gold cardboard and prepared the composition by gluing all the pieces together. To finish I added some decorations with the "Gems mix fire" and the "Sequin mix Heart Breaker" to give it a more Chik touch. I hope you like it and that it inspires you, I remember that you can find all these products and many others in the Picket Fence Studios store.A huge kiss and until next time!Laura

Hello There-Current of Fish

by Heejung Hunsberger on May 13 2022
Hello Friends, Today I have a card to share with you using the Current of Fish Stencil and Gold Rose Glaze. I colored three different blue colors of water coloring on the watercolor paper first, and dry it completely. This current of fish stencil is 6 x 6 size, taped the stencil from behind of water-colored paper. Using a mixed media spatula, I applied a paper Glaze Gold Rose. I removed the stencil, cleaned it and the spatula and set the panel aside to dry.    I guess it might be not easy to color with water color for the beginner. but it is very easy to do stencil. I want to have some dimension to the word die-cut,I would have die cut the hello there die a third on white card stock and added it on top. I think having a bit of dimension really helps to make it stand out.   I hope enjoyed this project, Thank you for stopping by! I will be a card with new release next month! Happy Crafting!   Supplies

Momma and Baby Giraffes Mother's Day Card

by Charlene Madrid on Apr 26 2022
Mother’s Day is almost here, and the new Momma and Baby Giraffes A2 Stencil is just perfect to use for a Mother’s Day card. Charlene here from Dream Craft Create, and I am so excited to be posting for the first time on the Picket Fence Studios blog! For today’s card I paired the Momma and Baby Giraffes A2 Stencil with the Marvelously You Word Topper Die and the A2 Cherry Blossoms Cover Plate Die. First, I dry embossed a white A2 sized piece of cardstock with the Momma and Baby Giraffes A2 Stencil. Keeping the stencil in place, I ink blended in pink, yellow, and blue ink on the diagonal using my Life Changing Blender Brushes. I overlapped each color to achieve a rainbow effect. I love blending inks to make a rainbow! Next, I ink blended again in pink, yellow, and blue ink on a separate A2 sized piece of cardstock. I made sure to keep my piece of cardstock in the landscape orientation while I was ink blending. Once I had another rainbow of color, I die cut the cardstock using the Marvelously You Word Topper Die. Once I was done with my rainbow pieces, I die cut an A2 sized piece of cardstock using the A2 Cherry Blossoms Cover Plate Die. This cover plate is gorgeous. I want to use it to make a shaker card, but that is a card for another day! Once cut, I used my scissors to trim out the middle portion. I set the middle portion aside to use for another card. All that was left to do was to put everything together. I used liquid adhesive to adhere my pieces to an A2 sized card base in the order of giraffes, blossoms, then word topper. I added a little bling using sequins from the Day of Rainbows Sequin Plus Mix. I hope you find some time to craft today, and that my card inspires you. You can find more cards using products from the recent April release on my blog. All the supplies I used are listed below. Happy crafting!

Butterfly with a girl-featuring Slim Line Hopes and Dream Butterfly

by Heejung Hunsberger on Apr 20 2022
Hello, crafty friends, Heejung here with you to share a card using the Slim Line Hopes and Dreams Butterfly die and Filled to the Brim Stamp set. I inked up the background using Slim Line Hexagon Randomness Stencil and add distress oxide ink in Tumbled Glass Ink using Life Changing Blender Brushes. I die-cut the Slim Line Hopes and Dreams Butterfly from black card stock and white card stock. I glued the black butterfly frame on the background panel. And I inked up the butterfly's wings with some distress oxide inks in shades carved Pumpkin and twisted Squeezed Lemon using Life Changing Blender Brush on white card stock, then die-cut the Slim Line Hopes and Dreams Butterfly from blended color paper. It isn't easy to put the die-cut pieces of butterfly.  I added an adorable girl drinking tea (from Filled to the Brim stamp set )on center of the butterfly.   I finished up with Kaleidoscope Butterflies and fly with me sequins. I love this slim Line Hopes and Dreams Butterfly die and Filled to the Brim stamp set.  Thank you for stopping by! Have a wonderful week!   Supplies

Embrace The Day

by Lisa Tilson on Apr 13 2022
Hello there, Lisa here with you today to share a card using the Full Round Tree Die and I paired it with a sentiment from an older set called Face The Sun I started by taking two panels of 110lb white cardstock and adding some Stick It Adhesive onto the back of them. Taking the Full Round Tree Die, I then ran each panel through my Gemini Junior a few times as it is an intricate die. I must have been feeling very brave when I decided to cut two of them and stack them together! But I went ahead with it anyway. I adhered the die cuts together gradually working my way around the tree and poking any excess out with my craft pick! This did take some time as you probably would have guessed. However, it really did make a difference having some dimension to the tree and if I had had a bit more patience, I would have die cut a third and added it on top. I think having a bit of dimension really helps to make it stand out from the cardstock behind. For the background I selected five different coloured cardstocks. I used Concord & 9th Peacock, Oceanside and Sprout, Lawn Fawn Cilantro and Hero Arts Kiwi. I cut these into jaunty triangles with my paper trimmer. This wasn’t as simple as you’d think either. I am sure there must be a quicker (and easier) way to cut them but mine took a while and involved all sorts of pencil lines here there and everywhere. Still, I loved it at the end, so that was also worth the time and I don’t think I have ever created a background like this before! All the triangles were adhered flat onto a panel of white cardstock that I then added to a top folding A2 base card. The tree stack was then added on top with wet adhesive. I stamped a sentiment from Face The Sun onto black cardstock, added some White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. I trimmed it out and popped it up with foam tape. A labour of love for sure – not that you would know it. It looks so simple! Thank you for joining me today. I hope that you have a good day, and happy crafting!

The Best Hugs Ever

by Nancy Thomas on Apr 06 2022
Good morning all. Nancy Thomas from Creative Palette here to share a card I created for the March release.  Using the Black Hybrid Ink Pad, I stamped the raccoons, bears, foxes and the various botanicals and hearts from the new The Best Hugs Ever then cut out with the matching dies and did the same with the owls from the More of the Best Hugs Ever stamp and die set.  All the images were colored with Copic markers, adding a bit of detail with a white gel pen on the animals and heart. I used the smaller frame from the 5x7 Double Stitched Rectangles Dies to cut from textured white and scarlet jewel cardstock using the inside white piece for my background. I then cut four circles out of it and backed with the woodgrain piece. With a bit of masking I stamped the partial sentiment then added the word die from the More of the Best Hugs Ever die set to finish it out. After securing the frames and inside piece to a 5x7 card base, I attached the images using either glue or foam dimensionals.   Aren't these critters just the cutest?

Eastertime

by Nancy Thomas on Feb 23 2022
Nancy here to share some Easter/Spring cards using the latest Picket Fence Studios release.     I stamped one of the cute images from the Eastertime set, one onto a die cut circle and the two small chicks using the Picket Fence Black Hybrid Ink Pad which were then cut out with the matching dies. All the images were colored with Copic Markers and the main image was then framed with a scalloped circle cut with the larger scallop frame from the Slim Line Scallop Frame Dies set. The chick diecuts were placed onto a small circle die cut which was framed with harvest gold cardstock cut with one of the Misshapen Stitched Circle Dies.  The shaker was created with a backing of pattered paper and several layers of cardstock cut with the smaller scallop frame from the Slim Line Scallop Frame Dies and filled with pieces from the Penny and Henny Sequins Plus Mix. I cut the card front border using the Ornate Negative Strip Die and backed with the green parakeet cardstock. I added a small strip at the top of the cut out to complete the border, then attached all the circle pieces.      For the second card, I stamped the bunny from the Hoppin' Down the Bunny Trail directly onto the card front using the the Black Hybrid Ink Pad and colored with Copic markers. I then masked the image in order to blend tumbled glass and broken china ink around it using the Life Changing Blender Brush Set. I also stamped the main image from the Hippity Hoppity to All stamp set and cut out with the matching die. After coloring with Copic markers, I cut it down to fit the A2 portrait card front. It was attached using a layer of craft foam. For the sentiment, I used the inlaid die cut technique using matted wortd die from the Hippity Hoppity to All Die set and then attached over the bunny ears with craft foam.  I hope you enjoy the rest of your week. Happy Crafting!

FaLaLaLaaaa!

by Lisa Tilson on Dec 17 2021
Hello there, Lisa here today for 25 Days Of Christmas Inspiration. Christmas isn't too far away now, but maybe you are still creating the odd card here and there for close family and friends. Today I am sharing a card using two of the cutest woodland bears from Forest Critters Stopping By To Say Hey and I thought I would pair them with an older background stamp. It's called On An Autumn Countyside and I love it. I think it can be used just as easily for Christmas cards as well as Autumn cards especially when you white heat emboss as it looks perfectly frosty. We all like to stretch our stamps don't we?! I started by stamping the tree onto some white cardstock using Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set and then set to work with my Distress Oxide Inks. Using Life Changing Blender Brushes, I blended Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry, Spun Sugar and Squeezed Lemonade from top to bottom. I trimmed the panel down and matted it onto some navy cardstock which i then added onto a top folding white 110lb notecard. Not a very traditional colour scheme but I love Seedless Preserves and wanted to use it today, and we can do whatever we want in cardmaking can't we! The two bears from Forest Critters Stopping By To Say Hey were stamped using Black Hybrid Ink and coloured with Copics (numbers listed a little later). They were then cut out with the coordinating dies and popped onto the panel using foam tape. To finish the card I stamped a greeting from Lots Of Christmas Cheer onto navy cardstock using Versamark Ink. Again, I applied white embossing powder and heat set before trimming it out into a little banner shape. I added some white gel pen stitching onto it and then added it to the panel with foam tape. And that finished the card for today! Copics used: E59, E57, E55, E53, E51, E50. Thank you for joining me here today on the blog and I wish you a wonderful day!

Happy Birthday Aquarius Girl with Erica

by Erica Andersson-Burke on Nov 23 2021
Hi guys! It’s Erica back on the Picket Fence Studios blog and today I have a blog post AND a video! Oh yes, so make sure to check out the Picket Fence Studios YouTube channel as well.  First of I have stamped the Aquarius Girl on Copic friendly paper, with the Black Hybrid ink, with the help of my Mini MISTI. I have used greys and blues for the colouring, to give her a mermaid/ethereal look. In the video I go through my colouring process, and how to achieve a more 3D look on faces.  With the colouring done, I used the coordinating diecut to cut her out, as well as another three layers. These have been layered up with liquid adhesive and then I set this aside.  My background is an already made panel, in blues of course. I have splattered this with black splatters, as well as some gold splatters. This is made by mixing up Daffodil Yellow and Golden Rose Paper Glaze with water, to create a liquid water colour. If you do this, make sure to only make as much as you need as it doesn’t keep.  The sentiment is two diecuts, one is the Happy Birthday Word Topper as well as the Aquarius from the Aquarius Girl coordinating die. Naturally, I couldn’t help myself from adding some bling to the card but I managed to restrain myself to just the earrings. These are Celebration Gem Mix stones.  That’s it from me for today, thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this post and the card, and make sure to check out the YouTube video as well! Lots of love and happy crafting from Erica  PS Don't forget to take advantage of the Black Friday Sale, especially if you have been keeping your eye on some goodies from Picket Fence!
