Holly Jolly Slim Line Christmas

by Sandi MacIver on Dec 03 2021
Hey cardmaking friends and welcome back.  It's Sandi here with another card in the Christmas Card Extravaganza here at Picket Fence Studios. Today it's a Slimline Holly Jolly Christmas.  I combined all my favorites on this card so it's packed with interest, layers and bling.  I hope you like it.     Yes, all the things on one card, haha. How to create the Slimline Holly Christmas card: Start with a 3-1/4 x 8-1/4 piece of white, cut with the Slim Line Die Cutting System. Lay the Slim Line Basket Petals Stencil over it and use the Life Changing Brushes to add Distress Oxides through the stencil.  I used Salvage Patina, Evergreen Bough, Pine Needles and Black Soot. Next, Use the Misti and the Black Hybrid Ink to stamp the holly stamp into hammermill white cardstock. Color with Copic Markers: Greens:  Bg11, BG34, G19, G28 Pinks:  RV34, RV17, RV19, RV69 Use the coordinating die to cut out the holly and set aside.   For the Sentiment: Die cut the Slim Line Merry Christmas Word Die in mirror gold, and two of the Blue spruce cardstock, stack them together. Finally, Use the Sky Blue Paper Glaze Ombre, spread it across a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 piece of white card and let it dry. Cut the Snowflake Lydia from it. Assembling the card:  Layer the card front to a 3-3/8 x 8-3/8 mat in Blue Spruce (from Spellbinders) and then to a 4 x 9-1/2 white card base. Use the Bearly White Glue with the fine tip to attach the paper glaze snowflake. Next, over that, add the holly. Finally, use the Bearly White Glue again to attach the sentiment. Embellish with Oceans of Green Gem Mix.            used for the Picket Fence Studios Slim Line Holly Christmas card: Here are the products I used today.  Compensated affiliate links used  where available at no cost to you. Joyeux Noel | Day 5 of 25 Days of Christmas

by Sara Sherlock on Nov 30 2021
Hello!  It's Sara, from Much Love, Sara. Welcome to day 5 of our 25 Days of Christmas Inspiration!  I don't know about you, but even with the bulk of my Christmas cards sent, I often find myself making "just one more card" right up until Christmas.  There's always a stamp set I can't pass up, or want to reuse.  And, if I don't need the card to send, it gets me a little ahead for the next year.  Today, I'm sharing a card, that came about because I really wanted to color the Holly Jolly Christmas stamp again.

Hey cardmaking friends and welcome back.  It's Sandi MacIver here and today I have A Holly Jolly Christmas Card to share with you created with fun products from Picket Fence Studios. In creating this card, I've added a smooth silky textured background for interest and depth.  Paper Glaze and Paper Glitz are used in white which is striking but doesn't take away from the pretty holly art piece.  The gold mirror sentiment adds just the perfect amount of bling to the card.   How to create the A Holly Christmas Card. Start with a 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 piece of Hammermill White Cardstock.  Place the Triple Weave Stencil over it and add Snowdrop White Paper Glaze through it with a spatula, going up about 3/4 of the way. Next, cover a another piece of white cardstock 4-1/4 x 5-1/2, with a thin coat of Paper Glitz Sparkle and set that aside to dry. Using a Misti, stamp the Holly Jolly Christmas Stamp in copic friendly  Black ink and color with copic markers.  Cut it out with the coordinating die. COPICS USED: Green:  BG11, BG34, G19, G28 Pinks:  RV34, RV17, RV19 RV69 For the Sentiment: Use the Merry Christmas Word Topper Die over a piece of Mirror Gold card stock. Next, once the Paper Glaze is dry, glue the word topper across the bottom of the card front.  Flip it over and trim the ends before security it to a 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Spellbinders Blue Spruce cardstock. Finally, trim to fit and then add the piece to a top folding A2 sized white card base. Die Cutting the Snowflake On the piece of cardstock with the Paper Glitz Sparkle, add the Snowflake Alice and die cut it out.  Cut two more in white cardstock. Next, use the fine tip on the Bearly Art Glue to glue the snowflakes together with the shiny one on top and then glue it to the top of the card. Finally, add the Holly piece with foam squares and you are done.            used for the Picket Fence Studios A Holly Christmas Card: Here are the products I used today.  Compensated affiliate links used  where available at no cost to you. A Christmas Flower

by Sandi MacIver on Nov 12 2021
Hey cardmaking friends, welcome back.  It's Sandi MacIver here.  Today I have a GRUNGE CHRISTMAS card for you created with Picket Fence Studios A Christmas Flower Stamp Set.  I decided to stencil a bit of a messy "grungy" background just to change it up a bit.  Grunge is a technique I do enjoy, but I have never tried it on a Christmas Card before and I kind of like it.     How to create the Grunge Christmas Card Start by using the Misti to stamp the A Christmas Flower onto Hammermill cardstock using Picket Fence Studios Black Hybrid Ink (copic friendly). Next Use copic Markers to color the image in. Pinks:  RV55, RV17, RV17, Yellow:  Y17,  Greens:  G21, G24, G28 Finally, die cut the image out with the coordinating die.   Creating the Grunge Background: This is a soft Grunge with really only two layers. Start with a black card base 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 and secure it to a protected work surface. Spray the Flower Stencil with Pixie Spray and lay it over the cardstock. Use a palette knife to add Snowdrop White paper Glaze through the stencil randomly - don't fill it in completely. Remove the stencil and wash immediately.   While you are waiting for the paper glaze to dry, cut the Snowflake Alice twice from white card stock and once from Simon Glitter White. Stack the snowflakes with the glitter one on top and glue it to the top of the card front. Attach the card front to a top folding A2 White card base. Mix some Gold Gansai Tambi ink and splatter the front of the card. Stamp and cut out the sentiment from the Fancy Christmas Sentiments and coordinating die set. Use foam squares to attach the flower and sentiment to the card front. Embellish with 1950's Sequins.          used for the Picket Fence Studios Grunge Christmas Card: Here are the products I used today.  Compensated affiliate links used  where available at no cost to you. Heart & Hearth

Hello!  It's Sara, from Much Love, Sara. Today, I'm sharing a fun Christmas card, created with a few products from this month's release.   I began this card by stamping the Winter Has Come to Town image onto white card stock, using Black Hybrid Ink.  I chose the house I wanted to use, and colored in the image, using my Prismacolor pencils.  Then, I fussy cut the house out.  Using the Clouds Die, I cut snow drifts to adhere around the base of the house.  While I had this stamp set out, I also stamped the sentiment onto dark green card stock, using Versamark ink, and then heat embossed it in copper.   On a piece of  kraft card stock, I stamped the Falling Pinecones image, using Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide Ink.   To complete the card, I assembled the pieces onto a white card base.   I hope you enjoyed today's card.  Find more cards using products from the September Release over on my blog.  Have a fantastic Tuesday!  Much Love,                                                  Sara

Monochromatic Christmas Cards

by Sandi MacIver on Jul 30 2021
Monochromatic Christmas cards: Hey cardmaking friends, welcome back.  Sandi MacIver here with a little Christmas Card inspiration for you today. Christmas in July seems to be the theme all over the cardmaking world this month.  It's a great time to start mass producing those holiday cards before life gets super hectic. I was playing with some of the new products in this month's release and came up with two Monochromatic Christmas Cards that are great for mass producing.  They are also flat, so no extra postage required...that's a big deal when you are sending out a lot of cards right?   How to create the Monochromatic Christmas Cards: Under NEW in the stencil department you will find Winter Forest Scenery Stencil and Arctic Winter 6 x 6 stencil. Combine the two with a nice juicy "Kraft" ink Pad to create these simple holiday cards. To add some bling, gold emboss the deer from the Joyeau Noel stamp set and mat the art piece with gold mirror cardstock. Finally, embellish with the Sands of Time Gem Mix.  These are super high quality gems, they are cut like diamonds.  They also have multi colors in them so they really glimmer.      Next, the exact same layout, but flipped sideways.    I couldn't resist that little bird stamp from the Joyeau Noel stamp set, he deserves his very own card.....same instructions as last card.  This time I added the gems over the leaves on the branch. Card Recipe: Base:  White 4-1/4 x 11, score and fold at 5-1/2", (bird card), 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 score and fold at 4-1/4". Art Piece:  white 2-3/4 x 4" Gold Mat:  Gold Foil paper 2-7/8 x 4-1/8 Hope you enjoyed my quick and easy Monochromatic Christmas Cards today and will give these a try. Until next time, Happy Stamping and get working on those holiday cards, LOL.   Here are the products used for today's cards.  Affiliate links used wherever possible at no additional cost to you.

CAS Paper Glitz Nativity Scene with Rachelle

Hello! It’s Rachelle here and I’ve got a CAS Christmas Card to share with you today featuring Paper Glitz blending and the NEW Nativity Slim Line Die Cutting System Insert! This card would be so easy to mass produce and the two-toned Paper Glitz background is perfect against this peaceful die cut nativity scene. I began by spreading quarter-sized dollops of “Snow Drifts” and “Fall Golds” Paper Glitz onto a piece of 100# white card stock. I ran my offset palette knife across it several times to soften the edge where the two colors met. There was a bit of color blending in that area and that’s the effect I was going for in this scene. Here’s a shot of the Paper Glitz panel once it was dry – that shine is amazing! I cut a 4” x 5.25” panel of white card stock and centered the Nativity Insert Die into the top portion using my clear ruler to finalize the position. Once the interior pieces were removed from the die cut, I heat embossed the large sentiment from the “Joyeux Noel” Stamp Set underneath the scene with gold powder. I love all the different fonts in this large sentiment set – there’s something for every single winter occasion! I backed the Nativity scene with a small piece of the Paper Glitz panel, allowing the gold area to highlight the figures inside of the stable and then blend up to the turquoise night sky. This panel was backed with a piece of craft foam for dimension and attached to the center of a top-folding A2 card base. Using one of the smaller dies that comes with the Nativity Insert Die Set, I cut a Christmas star from the “Fall Golds” Paper Glitz area and attached it to the card front above the scene to finish up the card.   Thanks so much for joining me today and head over the Picket Fence Studios' Shop to check out all of the other amazing products from the latest release! Happy crafting and have a wonderful day! Rachelle
