Meet the Maker: Brenda from Missouri
Hello, crafty friends!! Brenda here with you for this special “The Christmas Chronicles” blog series!! It’s so much fun to learn about traditions and rituals from around the globe!! I live right in the center of the United States in a small town in Missouri with my husband of 26 years and our two furbabies (an 11 year old golden retriever and an almost 2 year old goldendoodle).
The Project: Handmade Holiday Joy from Missouri
Stockings are always one of the first things to be hung in our home, after the tree is decorated!! I love the rustic and folk-art feel of the Stocking Full of Coal Stamp Set, although I’ve never gotten coal in my stocking (I guess I’ve always been on the nice list)!!
Picket Fence Products used on my card: Stocking Full of Coal Stamp Set; Holiday Treasures Fabulous Foil Toner Card Fronts; Evergreen Christmas Foil; Another Joyeux Noel Stamps & Coordinating Dies (sentiment); Winter Blues Sequins, Vintage Christmas & Holiday Stockings Sequin Mixes.
Words and Wishes: US Holiday Greetings
The most common greetings here in the US are the traditional Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. I can’t wait to read the other participants’ festive holiday greetings and phrases!!
Our Family Traditions
We always gather with my husband’s side of the family on Christmas Eve and keep it simple with appetizers and finger foods. We spend Christmas day with my family either at my parent’s or my brother’s home. If we go to my parent’s my mom cooks her amazing lasagna!! My brother and sister-in-law own a fine-dining restaurant, so they go all out on an early afternoon lunch!! My nieces are always super excited to be finished with the meal so they can open their gifts!!

What a bright colorful and Merry Stocking Christmas Card you Crafted for this blog post! I just came back from a Three week stay with my daughter and grandson in Mission, KS which as you know is right next door to MI! We did a tour of Enchant for my Dec 10th Birthday! First time in 5 LONG years I was able to spend a holiday with my daughter. What a cool ending for an amazing trip to KS and MI! I look forward to your future posts!
Gorgeous card with all of the festive images and beautiful colors!! LOVE your design and cheery card! I’m here in Orlando, FL which most people around the world end up traveling to because of being the home to Mickey Mouse. I live so near the amusements that I see Sea World’s, and Universal’s fireworks from my backyard and Epcot’s fireworks from my front yard. It’s amazing!
It’s definitely good to be in the nice list! Lovely coloring by the way! Merry Christmas!
Your card is so bright and cheery! Wonderful coloring. I’ve never had lasagna for Christmas, I’m more of a traditional turkey or sometimes ham person. Growing up we always opened presents on Christmas Eve and many decades later I’m still trying to get used to opening presents Christmas morning. How can your family wait until Christmas afternoon to open presents? That would be really difficult for me!
