Mermaids & Bubbles

Hello!  It's Sara, from Much Love, Sara.  The new release is here, and did you see all of the adorable mermaid sets?  I had so much fun playing with these new sets this month!

The adorable mermaids on this first card, are from the A Fishy Lot Stamp Set.  I stamped the images in Black Hybrid Ink, onto white card stock, and colored them in using Prismacolor pencils.  Then I die cut the images using the Coordinating Dies.

The sentiment from this card, was from the You Were Mermaid For Me Stamp Set, and was stamped and then white heat embossed, onto a strip of dark aqua card stock.

For the background on this card, I wanted to use the bubbles from the A Fishy Lot Stamp Set, but they were smaller than what I was thinking.  I chose to create some larger bubbles on the background, using the Blending 2.5" Circle Stencil, some Life Changing Blending Brushes, and Distress Oxide Inks.  The video below shows the process I used to create the bubbles.

I added the shimmer ink to the bubbles for highlights, as well as to my mermaid tails  I also added gold shimmer to the crowns on the two mermaids.  Then I stamped the smaller bubbles on my card front using Salvaged Patina and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Inks.  Before assembling, I taped off the front of my card base, and inked it with the same colors I used in the bubbles.  Then, I assembled everything with liquid adhesive and foam tape.

To finish off the background I created in the video - using the Blending 3.5" Circle Stencil, and the Sunbeam Stencil (which I later realized is not available any longer, you can use the Wave Sun Stencil, or the Blending 2.5" Circle Stencil in place of that.  My apologies for not catching that sooner.)  - I stamped and colored an additional mermaid from the A Fishy Lot Stamp Set, along with a few of her fishy friends.  I die cut the images with the Coordinating Dies.

The small bubbles were stamped onto the background, and I added a few Moonshine Sequins among the bubbles.  I stamped the sentiment, from the Mermaid Dear Stamp Set, in the Black Hybrid Ink, before I adhered the colored images with foam tape.   I, then, inked the front of my card base, before attaching the card front.

I hope you enjoyed today's cards.  For the full product list, of everything used on these cards, click here.  Find more cards using products from the June Release over on my blog.  Have a fantastic Tuesday!
