Hi friends!
Today I want to share a playful and "friendly" Halloween card, which is right up my alley as I don't like scary things (movies, cards, decorations)! I'll be using new release item Freckle Friends: Bella Boo and an older release item called Ghosts of Halloween Past! I'll also be using DecoGel Pens in Gold and Black!
I wanted to create a simple scene card, so that required some masking! First, I laid out all the stamps where I wanted them on my card panel. That helped me to figure out which stamp needed to be used first in the masking process. Once that was determined, I stamped the pumpkins first, covered them up with masking paper, stamped Bella Boo next and covered her up with masking paper, and then finally stamped the tree from Ghosts of Halloween Past. Then I removed the masking and was left with a fun one layer scene, ready to color!
Next step was to add the fun and playful clouds behind my scene! I used yellow, orange, and purple inks along with a cloud stencil I had on hand. Then I colored the tree in shades of grey, the pumpkins in shades of orange, and Bella Boo and her kitty. Of course, her dress had to be in purple because...Halloween! I also stamped a couple of bats surrounding the trees. Last step was to add shine using DecoGel pens in Gold and black for the eyes of Bella Boo and the kitty! The DecoGel pens add a nice touch of detail to the card!
