The Projects

I wanted to highlight just how versatile the Peaceful Christmas Flowers truly is. To create a cohesive look, I turned to my favourite colour palette: teal, red, and white. This trio feels fresh yet festive, offering a modern twist on traditional holiday cards. I love how the bold teal pops against the classic Christmas reds, making each card unique while still staying true to the season. Whether you're crafting for Christmas or a special December birthday, this colour scheme is perfect for any occasion.

My Go-To Supplies for This Blog Post

Copic Colours

  • Red Poinsettias: R43, R35, R46, R39
  • Teal Poinsettias: BG11, BG13, BG49, BG75 (swap BG09 for BG75 for a more subtle effect)
  • Leaves: YG01, YG05, YG09, G19 and YG21, YG25, YG25
  • Berries: YR02, YR07
  • Floral Centres: Y02, YG25

I began this project with a couple of relaxing colouring sessions last weekend. It was so refreshing to approach it without any specific ideas in mind, simply enjoying the calming process of colouring with my Copic markers. Sometimes, letting the creativity flow naturally is the best part of crafting!

Add splatter or a white gel pen for interest. You can also use your markers multiple times to create more shading and highlights.

Inks

  • Black Ink: PFS Black Hybrid Ink
  • Teal Sentiments: Distress Oxides in Peacock Feathers & Salty Ocean—layered together to create a stunning blended colour
  • Red Sentiments: Distress Oxide in Candied Apple

Before we get into the details, I want to share a little tip I picked up from my friend Kelly. Instead of reaching for coloured cardstock, try using your Copic markers to colour your matting layers and any detailed die cuts, like this lovely window die. This method helps tie everything together beautifully and ensures your colours match perfectly.

Festive Shaker Card: A Holiday Delight with Every Shake!

This shaker card is a true standout for the holiday season! Featuring the gorgeous Peaceful Christmas Flowers stamp set, it combines elegance with a playful, interactive twist. Each little shake reveals more of the delicate details, as sequins dance around the design, adding a sense of surprise and joy. Sending peace has never been so dynamic—this card is sure to impress and bring a smile to anyone who receives it!

Instructions for Creating the Festive Shaker Card:

  1. Prepare Your Card Base: Start by adhering a polka dot foiled piece of card to an A2 card base. (I like to foil multiple pieces ahead of time and keep them ready for projects like this!)

  2. Die Cut Your Elements: Die cut the A2 Pinking Shear panel along with two window dies, all from white cardstock. Then, use your Black and Red Copic markers to colour the window frames for a cohesive, bold look.

  3. Create the Shaker Panel: Next, cut the window into the pinking shear panel. This trick gives you a thicker border, making it easier to create a clean shaker card with sturdy foam tape placement.

  4. Add Vellum: Adhere a piece of vellum behind your window die cuts. This softens the look and helps keep the shaker bits in place.

  5. Build the Shaker: Add your chosen shaker bits to the vellum-backed window and secure everything with foam tape around the edges. This will ensure your sequins have room to move, but stay contained.

  6. Finish with Details: Finally, adhere your coloured poinsettias and sentiments to the front of the card. Add a few sequins for an extra pop, and your festive shaker card is complete!

Two Bold and Festive Christmas Cards

To add a playful touch to these Christmas cards, I introduced a black and white gingham pattern for a bit of fun and contrast. A pop of patterned paper can really elevate a design, and these A2 Happy Gingham card fronts do just that! One of my favourite tricks is mixing in older sentiment stamps—like the Sweet Holiday stamp and dies from last year—which gave these cards a fresh, modern feel. By simply cutting the gingham card front in half, I was able to create two unique designs with ease. It’s a clever way to stretch your supplies while keeping things festive and fresh!

Small differences between these two cards—like the variation in Copic colours, sentiments, sequins, and a bit of extra foliage—make each one unique. Quick, easy, and beautifully festive, these cards come together effortlessly while still standing out with their special touches!

If you had the same patterned paper and already colored and stamped the flowers and sentiments, you could sit and make a large batch of Christmas cards in a day,

Charming Mini Slimline Cards with a Festive Twist

Mini Slimline cards offer a fresh alternative to traditional card sizes, and these two designs truly highlight the elegance of the poinsettia! By incorporating a bold word die like "Joy" on one of the cards, I was able to change up the look entirely. These cards are perfect for sending a message of peace and joy this season, with the striking poinsettias adding that extra festive flair. It’s a simple yet impactful way to create something special with just a few creative touches!

For this card, I went with rich red florals to really make the design pop. The bold poinsettias paired with a simple "Sending Joy" sentiment create a striking balance. It’s festive, vibrant, and the perfect way to share a little joy this holiday season!

Next, I went bold with a large "JOY" die-cut paired with bright teal poinsettias. The mix of red and teal gives this card a modern, festive vibe. The "Peace & Love" sentiment complements the playful design, making this card a heartfelt way to spread joy during the holiday season!

Winter Birthday Cheer

For this winter birthday card, I added a subtle lattice background to create interest without distracting from the striking poinsettias. The cool, crisp design perfectly suits a winter celebration, letting the vibrant florals shine while maintaining a seasonal feel.

The Peaceful Christmas Flowers stamp set has proven to be incredibly versatile across all the cards I created. From festive Christmas designs to a stunning winter birthday card, this set offers endless possibilities. By simply adding in a few extra sentiments and dies from your collection, you can easily transform it for various occasions—whether it’s a thoughtful thinking of you card during the holiday season or something entirely different. One set, countless creative opportunities!
