Hello there, Lisa here with you today to share this slimline shaker card with you. For my card today, I am using the new Slim Line Rainbow Of Hearts Stencil, the Somebunny Loves You stamps and coordinating dies, the Slim Line Full Front Shaker Die, plus some Paper Glaze, Shaker Garnish and sequins. Basically everything is included but the kitchen sink!
I started by taking a panel of white cardstock and securing the Slim Line Rainbow of Hearts stencil to it using low tack tape. On my work surface I mixed some Snowdrop White Paper Glaze into a small amount of Jade Vine, Ocean Poppy and Lime Zinnia Paper Glazes. I then applied each of them through the stencil using a spatula. After I had finished applying the glazes, I used a Deco Foil Stencil Pal to smooth it out. Once dry, I trimmed the panel using a scalloped die from SLDCS Scallop Frames dies.
I then stamped the two bears, the bunny and balloon from Somebunny Loves You onto some 80lb white cardstock using Black Hybrid Ink. They were coloured with Copics (numbers below) and cut out using the coordinating dies. I also die cut the Happy Day sentiment from SLDCS Nested Rectangles dies and set all of those items to one side.
To make the shaker front, I took a large piece of acetate and die cut it with the Slim Line Full Front Shaker die. This is a clever die as it will cut the flaps that you will then use to secure the acetate at the back of your panel. Next I added some double sided tape onto the back of the stencilled panel in preparation for securing the acetate. I removed the backing tape from three of the sides of the panel, placed the panel face down onto the acetate and folded each of the three flaps back over the inserted panel. So, at this point, I have created a pocket for my shaker mix - with an opening on one side.
Next it was time to add the mix into the shaker pocket. I used some Spring Fling and Spiked Ocean Water sequins and bulked the mix up with some Iridescent Clear and Spring Green Shaker Garnish. Once all of that was inside the pocket, I removed the backing tape from the remaining side of the panel and secured the remaining acetate flap down, trapping the mix inside.
To finish the card, I adhered the shaker pocket onto a top folding horizontal slim line base card using double sided tape. I then added the critters and sentiment on using wet adhesive. And that finished the card for today! I hope that this gives you some inspiration for making a slim line shaker. Having the die makes it a very easy process. Until next time, happy crafting!
