Hi, friends! It's Andrea back with you, and today I'm sharing a card featuring the adorable, new Layered Fauna: Larger Playful Fox Dies from Picket Fence Studios.
Aren't those foxes cute?! Each of the Playful Fox Dies has two layers: a solid base and a detail layer. I diecut all of the elements from white cardstock and colored the detail pieces with Copics. To prevent the pieces from moving around while I colored, I placed them onto the 4" x 4" Paper Inking Palette. Once the detail diecuts were colored, I glued them to the solid bases.
To create a den for my foxes, I first diecut brown cardstock with one of the arched dies from the Basic Die Cutting Set 1 Dies, allowing the die to hang off the cardstock. Next, I embossed the panel with the A2 Against the Grain Cover Plate Die. I applied brown ink to the edges of the panel with a Life-Changing Blender Brush. For the inside of the den, I trimmed an A2 panel of dark brown cardstock and blended it with a darker ink to add some depth, leaving it lighter in the center. I attached my diecut panel on top with foam tape and affixed the piece to a cardbase.
To add interest and color to the scene, I added grass tufts and fern fronds. For the grass I used the Scene Building Grass Tufts Dies, and I diecut the ferns with the Layering Flora: Leaves and Twigs Dies. I placed the diecuts onto the paper inking palette and applied green inks with the Rainbows Pint-size Paper Pouncers. Next, I glued the foxes in their den, adding a bit of shading with Copics, and attached the green pieces to complete the scene.
My sentiment is from the Swanky Sentiments: Salutations stamp set. I stamped it in black and diecut it with the coordinating dies. I popped up the sentiment with thin 3D foam squares and finished with matte gold pearls.
