Hello tiny dancer! I just adore the sweet new BFF Ballerina Friends stamp set. I am a boy mom, so any time I can get my hands on all the girly things, I do. I used my Copics to color up the dancer and then cut her out with the matching BFF Ballerina Friends dies. I set her aside and worked on the background.
I started my background with some distress inks in Picked Raspberry and Scattered Straw and the ink smooshing technique. It’s my favorite and so easy to do. When the panel was dry, I went back in with the Tulip Stencil, Life Changing Blender Brush and the lighter pink Distress Oxide ink in Spun Sugar. I was so pleased with the subtle detail this added to my background. I then finished off the background with some ink splatters and clean water.
I wanted to do something different with the sentiment, so I reached for one from the I Freaking Love You stamp set. I did a little masking and used only part of the full sentiment. I love this trick, and it stretches your supplies. I say it all the time….more bang for your buck! I simply use a piece of washi tape to mask off the part of the sentiment I don’t want, ink up the stamp, remove the tape and stamp. Easy, peasy.
