Stretching your stamps – literally!

Stretching your stamps – literally!

The Succulent Floral stamp is so versatile. For this card I wanted to take a stamp that is easily made into a square card into a rectangular card.

To create this card I started by stamping the succulent image on white cardstock and then applied Distress Oxide Ink – Forest Moss and Bundled Stage – very generously. Then I used a water brush and colored over the open areas of the image. I added a lot of water and then dabbed the water area to remove color. This is one of the great properties of Distress Oxides — it reacts with water.

I die cut the image using a circle die and then I cut it in half. This allowed me to “stretch” the stamp to be oblong. A Thank You greeting (stamped on Neenah Desert Storm cardstock) hides the gap between the two halves and gives you the illusion that the image is bigger than it is. The final touches are splatters of Hero Arts Unicorn White spray and clear sequins.

It’s gorgeous Jana, I was just thinking how and what for a man who loves flowers but I don’t want to make a real flower card. This is great, also your colour combo. Thank you so much for shwoing and the inspiration.
