It’s In The Bag

It’s In The Bag

Hi everyone!  Jennifer Timko here with today’s post.  I am here with a confession.  I’m obsessed with the Picket Fence Studios girls.  It is a really good thing I don’t have to pick a favorite because there is no way I could.  I was inspired to work on watercoloring for these images and I pulled out the BFF Kate stamp since she had not been inked up yet.  Yes, that is shameful but thankfully fixed now.

It's In The Bag by Jen Timko | BFF Kate Stamp Set and Dies by Picket Fence StudiosI love that these images are perfect for any medium of coloring.  Whatever you have, whatever you want to practice, these are the stamps!  Using Daniel Smith watercolor paints, I chose navy blue as my starting point of my palette.  This gal is super stylish (way more so than me…I think I want to be her) so I went with neutrals on her clothing.  But she also seems pretty fearless, so a bright orange bag was the perfect choice. In order to add the splatter without messing up the image, I used the coordinating die and cut a mask out of scrap paper. I laid the mask over the colored image and then splattered the paint. Easy!

It's In The Bag by Jen Timko | BFF Kate Stamp Set and Die by Picket Fence Studios, You've Got This Stamp Set by Picket Fence StudiosI was looking through my sentiments to find just the right one and I came upon the You’ve Got This set and this one was perfect!  I love a bit of a pun and this card seems just right for cheering on a friend.  I hope you’ll be inspired to pull out your favorite “girl” and give some coloring a go.  Thanks so much for stopping in today!  Have a great weekend!

What a great card! I love how you colored the girl and added paint splatters to the background. The sentiment is perfect, 🙂
