Hens and Bunnies

Hens and Bunnies

Hi,
Susan here on the blog today. Normally, I have a video but life happened. I will be back with one next time. However, I do have two cards from the last release. The first up is Peach and Piper on polka dots.

I did not get to work with these adorable bunnies last release so I knew I wanted to this time. As soon as I saw the Grunge Polka Dot background I knew I had the perfect background for these two cuties. I stamped the background in a pink ink first. I definitely recommend using a MISTI as this is background has a lot of solid polymer.

I stamped the bunnies in a light grey ink using my MISTI. I tried to color correctly but I am still learning no line coloring so I give myself a pass on them lol! To add the appearance of fur, I used Caran d’Ache Luminance pencils in Brown Ochre 10%, Brown Ochre 50% and Brown Ochre. I found finding the fur direction to be challenging – keep an eraser handy! I think next time I will use my Polychromos as they make a nice sharp mark. I added black dots to the eyes and nose and added a bit of white gel pen to pop a highlight. The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Onyx black ink.

For my next card, I just had to use the hens…why not they are adorable too.

To form the front panel, I used an A2 sized panel of Distress Watercolor Paper. I taped on the Dandelion stencil and sprayed Hero Arts Butterbar Ink Spray all over it. I did use a spray box. I then used some stitched circle dies to cut three windows into the panel. I popped the panel up onto a top folding A2 sized note card. Then I stamped the hens with Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored them in with Copics. Honestly, I don’t remember the colors but these hens are so cute you could use any color or even a rainbow. I adhered them flat onto the back panel so they were hanging out the window. I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Onyx black using my MISTI. You really need to use a MISTI when stamping on watercolor paper as the texture will require you to stamp a second time.

And that is it. Thanks for being here today! Have a wonderful weekend! Susan
