Jennifer here with today’s inspiration from Picket Fence Studios! I’m so thrilled to share a project I created with the new November release. I used the gorgeous Ruffled Peony Bouquet stamp set to try a new-to-me technique and I’m thrilled with the result.
I love the look of bold multi-colored flowers but never seem to be able to get just what I’m looking for when using watercolors. So I remembered a technique that used ink to color and then Copic markers to add dimension. I thought it would be fun to try it using watercolor paints instead to see if that would work. Lo and behold, yes!
I found the process easier than I expected, too. I started by matching some Copic markers to my paint swatches to make sure I knew where to begin when applying the paint. Then I just kind of kept playing with colors and textures. I created a video to show the process that I hope will be helpful.
If you want to know all the Copic colors I used, I did list them in the video but they are linked below as well. I hope you enjoy this project! Make sure you take some time to create just for the sake of creating!! Thanks for stopping in today.
