Leaves Falling for You

by Colleen Balija on Jul 25 2024
Hi friends! It's Colleen here and I get so excited when fall designs come out each year! When Picket Fence Studios released a stamp called Leaves Falling for You, I knew that I needed to get my hands on it! My card today uses Leaves Falling for You stamp and die set, Pinking Sheer Cover Plate die, Paper Glaze Luxe Golden Ring paste, A Whole Lot of Polka Dots stencil, and Liquid Paper Splatters. I have been seeing lots of cards with black backgrounds with vibrant focal points, so I decided to go with that theme for this card! I started with the background, adding Golden Ring paste through the polka dot stencil onto a piece of black cardstock. I set that aside to dry. Next, I created a colorful background panel by mixing Liquid Paper Splatter with water and then ink schmooshing it onto a piece of watercolor paper. The colors used were Kiwi Lime, Yellow Sunshine, Liquid Gold, Turquoise Blue, and Pink Blossom. I started with the lightest color and moved to the darker ones, drying each layer before adding more color. For the darkest colors (Turquoise and Pink Blossom), I just splattered that over the colored card panel so that the dark colors wouldn't take over the card panel. I wanted a light and fallish look to my leaves!  Once the color from my ink schmooshing was to my liking, I stamped the leaves over the colored panel and heat embossed them with gold powder. Then I die cut each leaf.  I die cut the Pinking Sheer die to create a frame and adhered it over the background panel with the gold polka dots. Then I added foam tape to the larger leaves and placed them onto the background panel along with the smaller leaves. I finished with a sentiment from the Leaves Falling for You stamp set, which was also heat embossed in gold.  I love how everything is dark except for that bright pop of color from the leaves! It really makes them pop off the page! The gold adds dimension and texture that brings it all together. To shop the items used on this post, click on the description to be taken to the PFS shop. Know You Are Surrounded By Love

by Brenda Noelke on May 15 2024
Happy Wednesday, fellow crafters!! This week sure is flying by!! Brenda here with an encouragement card featuring goodies from yesterday's release!! I started by white heat embossing the flowers from the Sweet Summer Bellflowers Stamp Set onto Bristol smooth cardstock. I watercolored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, then cut them out with their Coordinating Dies. For the background, I stamped the She Endured Background Stamp onto a panel of Bristol cardstock by coloring on the stamp with the same markers that I used on the flowers, spritzing it with water, then stamping it onto the panel. It was die-cut with the largest arched die in the Basic Die-cutting Die Set 1. I used the two largest arched dies in the same set to cut a frame from plum cardstock, then I cut the second largest arched die from vellum. The largest die in the A2 Rectangle Layering Die Set was cut from blue cardstock and the She Endured Background Stamp was stamped onto it with blue ink. All of the layers were adhered together with liquid glue and the flowers were adhered across the front of the panel.  The sentiment, from the Swanky Sentiments: Sympathy Stamp Set, was white heat embossed onto plum cardstock. It was cut out with its Coordinating Die and popped up with foam tape.  That does it for me today!! Thanks so much for stopping by!! I hope the rest of your week goes well!! Brenda

Hello There - Square Sunflower Card

by Brenda Noelke on Aug 15 2023
Hello, crafty friends!! I hope this finds you all well!! Brenda here with a square, floral card featuring the Golden Sunflower Flowerhead Stamp!! I began by stamping the Golden Sunflower Flowerheads Stamp onto Bristol smooth cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I stamped it again with Versamark Ink, then embossed it with clear detail embossing powder. I colored it with Karin Pro Brushmarkers and added detail to the center with a yellow gel pen. I trimmed the panel to 5.25” square and matted it with white and yellow cardstock before adhering it to a 5.5” square card base. Next, I die-cut the Hello There Word Die once from yellow cardstock and three times from heavyweight white cardstock. I stacked and adhered them together, with the top layer slightly offset. A sprinkling of All About the Yellows Sequins finishes off the card. That’s it for me today!! Sunflowers are such an iconic fall flower and definitely one of my favorite blooms!! This set is so much fun to color!! Thanks for stopping by!! Brenda
