Welcome to our monthly Guest Designer Spotlight! We are thrilled to introduce you to the talented Allison Frazier who has joined us this month to share their creative journey and inspire you with their amazing projects.
Hi, I’m Allison, and I live in beautiful Colorado with my family. I have always loved art, although the left side of my brain took me on quite the detour, as I spent almost half of my life in corporate tax. Even during that time, I would constantly find an escape through art of some sort. I stumbled upon card making in 2018, and it has been one of my happiest and fulfilling discoveries!
Gather around because we're about to indulge in the exquisite craftsmanship of Allison Frazier's exclusive projects for Picket Fence Studios! Allison has harnessed her passion and skill to create three unique pieces that are sure to stir your creative spirit.
Imagine a burst of sunshine on a card, and that's exactly what Allison's "Feel Better" project brings to the table. Using the Indian Summer 6x8 Stencil, she's crafted a background that radiates warmth and positivity. A bouquet of delicate wildflowers says, "I'm here for you," in the most charming way.
Next, we have the "You are Magical" card using More Fanciful Feathers and the Wreath Building: Feathers Stamp Set to create a swirl of mixed media joy.
The "Buzzing by to Say Hi" card is a vibrant vignette of nature's simplicity and beauty. With the Home for the Bees Stamp, Allison invites us into a miniature world buzzing with life, nestled among lush flora. This card is a mini-getaway, a quick escape to a world where bees hum and flowers bloom.

]]>I began by stamping the flower from the Brighter Days Gerbera Daisy Stamp Set onto white cardstock with no-line coloring ink. I colored it with Copic markers and added details and definition with colored pencils. The Coordinating Die was used to cut it out.
For the background, I added pink dye ink onto a panel of white cardstock using the Indian Summer 6x8 Stencil, a Pint-sized Paper Pouncer and the Paper Inking Palette. The third largest die in the the Rectangles A2 Layering Die Set was used to cut it out. I splattered Black Magic Paper Splatter Watercolor onto the panel with a fan brush. A panel of pink cardstock was die-cut with the largest die in the same set. The rectangle dies were adhered together and the gerbera daisy was adhered with liquid glue.
The sentiment is also from the Brighter Days Gerbera Daisy Stamp Set. It was white heat embossed onto black cardstock, cut out with the Coordinating Die and popped up with foam tape. Sequins from the All About the Yellows Sequin Mix add a bit of yellow to the bottom of the card and draw your eye to the sentiment.

]]>Hello there! It's Andrea back to share a colorful and quick card featuring the Flutter Fly Fabulous Foiling Toner Card Fronts.
I foiled two different card fronts from the pack. For the panel in the background, I used Rainbow Flake Fabulous Toner Foil, and for the other card front, I applied Gold Flake Fabulous Toner Foil. I colored the gold-foiled butterflies with Copics and fussy-cut them.
From the center of the rainbow panel, I diecut "hello" with the Another Hello There Word Dies. I trimmed down the panel, matted it with black cardstock and adhered it to a white card.
I applied Black Eyeliner Paper Glaze Luxe to black cardstock. I just love making my own glitter cardstock! Once the glaze was dry, I diecut it with the Another Hello There Word Dies. My original plan was to inlay the black letters, but I decided I wanted a little more dimension. Hence, I diecut "hello" from black cardstock and glued that before adhering the glitter sentiment. Finally, I affixed the Copic-colored butterflies with foam squares.
Thanks for stopping by!

]]>Let´s start by the background! It´s made with the A2 Fancy Flourish Cover Plate die. I made an impression with it. Just check the instructions of your diecutting machine to do this; you´ll probably need a rubber or silicone mat in your sandwich.
This card features the new Layering Flora: Sweet Cherry Blossoms die set. I cut a bunch of flowers from a pink cardstock and arrange them over the background. There are three types of flowers with different sizes which allows you to make layers and give some dimension. I also cut some leaves with the same die set from a green cardstock.
The Hey word is from the Hi, Hey, Hello, Howdy Word dies. I cut it three times in white cardstock and stack them together, and the layer on top with a silver cardstock.
The heat embossed sentiment is from the Animals Crackers: Sow much stamp set. I cut it with its coordinating die.
To finish it up I added some gems from the Gem Mix: Reflections. Love the iridescent color of them, I chose the pink ones but, depending on the light, they change color!
I hope you enjoyed this post and the card inspires you to make your own creations!
Thank you so much for stopping by and reading.
Have a fantastic week.
See you in my next blog post,
Silvana.

First, for you mixed media lovers, Picket Fence Studios has a plethora of design elements that can be used on your surfaces! I'm using just a sampling of it! Now, onto my card!
First step was to build the background. I applied various shades of blue and teal ink, via ink schmooshing, onto a white piece of watercolor paper. Ink schmooshing is the process of applying ink onto a glass surface, spraying it with water, and then tapping the watercolor panel into the ink. Continue this process until you've achieved the look that you want. You can see what it looks like in the photo below. For this technique, you'll want to use colors that play nice together so that you don't create "mud".
Once I was finished with ink schmooshing, I added splatters of the ink over the panel, including the liquid watercolor splatters in Kiwi Lime. Then I stenciled over the surface using the Polka Dot Scarf stencil, and then stamped the scribbly heart from Coffee Understands Me Again. I kept a light touch so that you could see the images, but they also blended into the background color. Once I was finished, I trimmed the panel using my deckled paper trimmer and applied gold paste around the edges for interest. Then I adhered it to a slightly larger piece of black cardstock and adhered both to a 5.5x4.25 white card base.
Next, I worked on the Sweet Cherry Blossom dies. These are the perfect size flowers to stand alone or use with other elements! I die cut the layers for several flowers onto watercolor paper, and then applied color using the same technique as I did with the background card panel, only I went much darker in color so that the flowers popped! When the layers dried, I adhered them together and fluffed the top layers a bit to give the flowers depth.
I wanted to create a layer between the background and the flowers so that the flowers wouldn't get lost in that busy background, so I die cut Falling Brick Wall die in white cardstock and then applied Golden Ring Paper Glaze Luxe over the die. Once it was dried, I adhered it over the card base and then added the flowers and leaves over it. I added gold paste to the flowers and leaves as well. I finished with a sentiment from Swanky Friendship and several Flatback Pearls in Navy and Charcoal Grey.
Mixed media is most successful when you limit the color palette. You can play with all sorts of elements such as the paper glaze, liquid watercolor splatters, reactive inks, and various dies and stencils! It is just SO much fun to play like this, I hope you will grab your stash and give it a try!
You can find the products I've used for this card by hovering over the item name and then clicking on it. That iwll bring you to the Picket Fence Studios shop!

I started by die-cutting the top layer of the butterfly in the Two Big Beautiful Butterfly Die Set from black cardstock and the bottom layer from white cardstock. The Layering Flora: Sweet Cherry Blossoms Dies were also die-cut from white cardstock. I used Rainbow Pint-sized Paper Pouncers and Distress Oxide Inks to add color to the die-cuts. I used Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, Peacock Feathers and Peeled Paint.
For the background, I die-cut the Garden Lattice A2 Cover Plate Die from white cardstock and adhered it to a white A2 card base. I splattered it with Black Magic Paper Splatter and set it aside to dry.
The "love" portion of the sentiment was die-cut three times from black cardstock using the Sara Girl Die Set. They were stacked and adhered together with liquid glue. "You", from the Wreath Building: Greetings From Our Hive Stamp Set, was stamped onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink and fussy cut. All of the die-cuts were arranged and adhered with a combination of liquid glue and foam tape. I adhered a gem from the Day and Night Gem Mix to the center of the flowers and sequins from the All about the Pinks, All About the Yellows and All About the Purples sequin mixes to add a bit of shine.

My sweet spring-themed card features the ingenious EZ Light from Pear Blossom Press and a variety of products from Picket Fence Studios.
I'm all in on EZ Lights for their sheer brilliance, especially paired with the adorable Welcome Home Bun Bun die set. Here's a quick breakdown of how this card came to life:
The Base: I used vellum for the large base die and alcohol-friendly paper for the detailed cuts. Vellum was a game-changer for those cute, light-up windows.
Color and Light: After coloring the pieces with copic markers, I added the EZ Lights behind the vellum windows.
Background Bliss: An A2 card inked with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide and a cleverly placed hole for the light, using a large cloud die for a seamless look.
Framing & Detailing: I crafted a frame with A2 Rectangle Dies, then stamped and colored sentiments and birds from the Tweet Tweet Friends set. Don't miss the Slim Line Tree Branch, colored and adorned with clay flowers from the Flower Beds Sequin Mix Plus and Chicks in Grass embellishments for that shaker card effect!
Assemble, light up, and voila - a stunning card that shines bright!

]]>Hi, friends! It's Andrea back with you to share a card that features a beautiful, pink butterfly left over from this card. Waste not, want not, as they say! I say, work smarter, not harder (although I don't always adhere to that)!
The butterfly was created with the Layering Fauna Butterfly Dies. I describe how I did that in the post linked above. I backed the outline with vellum and inlaid a black body cut with the dies.
For my background I blended some of the same pink inks used on the butterfly through the Polka Dot Scarf 6x8 Stencil. I applied the ink with the Life Changing Blender Brushes, allowing it to fade to white on the edges. I trimmed down the panel, matted it with black cardstock, and adhered it to a white card.
I stamped a sentiment from the Somebunny Loves You stamp in Black Hybrid Ink. After affixing the butterfly with a thin strip of foam tape down the body, I finished with a few sequins from the Spring Has Sprung Sequin Mix.
Thanks for stopping by!

]]>Let´s see how the finished card looks:
The card opens to the left and to the top, with the diagonal cut. To make this, you have to start with a piece of heavy cardstock and make two score lines on the half on both edges of the cardstock, that means at 4 1/4" inches on the 8 1/2" side and at 5 1/2" on the 11". After that you will have to cut the cardstock diagonally meeting the left bottom point with the right top angle. I made a scheme for you just in case:
After this you will have two diagonal gatefold base cards. Just press the score marks very well with your bone folder in order to get the flaps flat.
Now, the fun part! I started by making an impression with the I bee home 6x8 stencil in the left flap, making sure that the stencil covered all the card first, but leaving the upper flat out of the plates. After that, put the upper flap down and, making sure that the pattern aligned correctly in the embossed area, I covered it with a paper and started to apply the new Paper Glaze Bee Sting.
I colored and cut some images from the Wreath Building: Greetings from our hive stamp set and arranged them in the embossed area.
To finish the card and to make the flaps down, I created a shape in form an hexagon in black heavy cardstock and cut it three times. I heated embossed the sentiment form the same stamp set in one and glue the three forms together making a strong heavy piece to go in the middle of the card, but just glued on the top flap.
I added some white details to the stamped images and that´s the end!
I really like how this card turned out with the creative fold. And I hope you like it too!
Many thanks for stopping by and read my post for today.
Have a great day and happy creations!
Silvana.

I fell in love with Sara Girl just as soon as I saw her, so I've used her a few times this month! First, I stamped her in permanent black ink. Next, I colored her hair and face. The hair is colored with alcohol inks n shades of pink, giving her a funky and modern look! I applied Paper Splatters Watercolor in Kiwi Lime over the pennant on her necklace. Then I die cut her and a piece of black and white cardstock in 3 rectangle sizes and glued them together. I think that makes a nice frame for Sara!
Next, I focused on the background. Starting with 5.5x4.25 piece of black cardstock, I placed the cardstock on the PFS Paper Inking Palette sized 5x6 and then placed the stencil over the paper and the palette. These palettes are incredible because they have a sticky surface, making it perfect for stenciling or ink blending! They come in a variety of sizes too! Once I had the stencil and cardstock in place, I applied the Lime Soda Paper Glaze Luxe through the stencil with a palette knife and then immediately removed the stencil. I set the card panel aside to dry. The glaze dries very quickly!!!
Once the glaze was dried, you could see the lime shimmer through the black cardstock, and I loved the contrast of black against lime! In person it is much, much more shimmery! I adhered Sara Girl over the background panel. NOTE: Sometimes glue doesn't adhere well to a surface like the glaze, so I used a strong adhesive and that did the trick. Also, I thought about adding a sentiment, but this card panel was so lovely that I didn't want to add to it, so I'll put one on the inside of the card for my recipient!
This card was so easy to put together because of the paper glaze and the details in the Sara Girl stamp! I'm so glad you stopped by today! You can find the products I've used for today's card by hovering over the item name and then clicking on it. That will take you to the PFS shop!

]]>I began by die-cutting both layers of one of the butterflies from the Two Big Beautiful Butterfly Die Set from heavyweight white cardstock. I spread the Twinkle Lights: Seas Paper Glaze Luxe heavily onto the bottom layer and set it aside to dry overnight.
For the background, I die-cut one of the geometric inner dies in the A2 Rectangles Layering Die Set from white cardstock and layered it onto an A2 white card base. I die-cut the same die from sage cardstock. The squares were inlaid into the background and the background die-cut was saved for another project.
The sentiment, from the Wreath Building: Butterfly Wings Stamp Set, was white heat embossed onto the same sage cardstock and fussy cut. The butterfly was adhered with liquid glue and the sentiment was popped up with foam tape. I found the perfect color of sequins in the Nostalgic Times Embellishment Mix and added a few to finish.
I am so inspired by color and I love how the Twinkle Lights: Seas Paper Glaze Luxe inspired this monochromatic cardl!

]]>Hello, creative friends! Welcome back to the blog. Today, we're focusing on how to take your card-making skills to the next level, creating standout pieces with depth and personality.
In my last post, I shared how using large dies and stamps can make your cards unique. If you haven't seen it, [click here](#) to check it out. As I'm just getting back into crafting, I've decided to stick with the theme of large dies and stamps. This time, we're exploring how to add a special dimension to your cards using floral stamps and intricate dies.
Let's get into the details of how to achieve these effects in your own projects.
1. Prepare Your Base: Begin by either die-cutting or manually cutting two pieces of A2 watercolour paper . It's crucial to stamp both images in exactly the same place on each piece. This precision is key because you'll be layering one image over the other to create depth and dimension.
2. Colour Your Creations: Watercolour both stamped images as similar as possible. If you encounter any errors while watercoloring, don't worry about starting over. Keep your piece for a creative opportunity in the next project (see project 2 for a fun tip!).
3. Die Cut for Design: Once your images have dried, focus on one to add an intricate detail. Use the panel die as shown above to die cut the selected A2 watercolored image. Make sure it's perfectly centered to achieve a beautiful die-cut design within your piece. The result? A stunning panel that combines texture, color, and design in one.
4. Add Dimension: Die cut two more panels from scrap paper. Adhere these panels behind the watercolored, die-cut piece to introduce more depth. Then, carefully align and attach this layered panel atop the other image, adding a dynamic and textured look to your creation.
5. Stamp and Cut Sentiments: Use the Sweet Holiday Stamp Set to stamp and then die cut the 'happy birthday' sentiment. This adds a personalized touch to your card.
6. Assemble and Embellish: Fix the completed panel onto an A2 card base. Position the 'happy birthday' sentiment appropriately on the card. For the final flourish, scatter sequins across the card, lending sparkle and a touch of elegance.
🎨 ✨ Creative Supplies for Project 1
Remember the tip from our previous project about not discarding your watercolored panels, even if they didn't turn out as expected? Here's how to transform an "oops" into a "wow" with a creative twist.
1. Repurpose with Precision: If you've colored a panel and it didn't align perfectly or you made a mistake, don't throw it away. Use the other intricate panel die from the A2 rectangles set (or any die) to cut out a detailed pattern from your coloured panel.
🎨 ✨ Creative Supplies for Project 2
Be sure to follow me to stay updated on their crafting adventures.
And there you have it, two unique projects to spark your creativity and add a personal touch to any occasion. Whether you're celebrating a birthday with our vibrant Happy Birthday A2 card or sending well wishes with the inventive Get Well Lovely A2 shaker card, these crafts promise to deliver joy and a splash of color to your loved ones' lives.
I hope these projects inspire you to explore the endless possibilities of card making, encouraging you to see the beauty in every stroke and the potential in every "oops." Remember, the most memorable creations often come from unexpected turns in the crafting journey.
May your days be filled with color, creativity, and joy.
Sending crafty hugs and positivity your way.

]]>Hello there! It's Andrea back with you, and today I'm sharing an unexpected way to use the new Layering Fauna Butterfly Dies. When I first saw these dies, I thought of waterlilies and couldn't get that image out of my mind.
I diecut the butterfly dies separately from pale pink cardstock: one solid butterfly and one with the lily shape. I taped the negative and postive pieces together on the back of the second butterfly. I placed the diecuts onto the 5"x6" Paper Inking Palette and, using the Bright Rainbow Pint-sized Paper Pouncers, applied pink dye ink to the diecuts. Once I was happy with the ink-blending, I added White Snowflake Paper Splatter to the diecuts with the Fan Brush. I trimmed the solid butterfly apart to create two solid bases and adhered the negative pieces from the second butterfly to the solid shapes with tiny pieces of foam tape.
Because of the size of my "waterlilies", I decided to make a 5"x7" card. I blended a panel of white cardstock with a couple shades of teal ink using the Life Changing Blender Brushes. The 6"x8" Tree Bark Stencil reminded me of water ripples. After placing the stencil over my ink-blended panel, I spread Twilight Lights - Seas Paper Gaze Luxe over the panel. Once the glaze was dry, I trimmed down my panel and affixed it to a cardbase with double-sided adhesive. I adhered my lilies with double-sided adhesive, popping up the foreground lily with thin 3D foam squares.
I diecut the letters to spell "friend" twice from white cardstock using the Slim Line Stitched and Scalloped Rectangles and Alpha Diecutting System. I applied the same ink used on the waterlilies to one of the diecuts and then glued the layers together for stability. I stamped a supporting sentiment from the Animal Crackers You Deserve to Be Spoiled stamp set with Black Hybrid Ink and diecut it with the coordinating dies. I glued "friend" to my card and popped up the supporting sentiment with foam tape. To finish the card, I glued some of the tiny sequins from the Iridescent Moonshine Sequin mix to the waterlilies.
Thanks for stopping by!

]]>In the latest release from Picket Fence Studios you can find beautiful bees, butterflies and bugs, which are perfect for the upcoming spring season.
The "spring" was my inspiration for the background of this card and that´s why I chose a colorful option. I used some alcohol inks and played with them over a yupo paper. This was an A7 piece but I trimmed it to fit in an A2 card. Over this background I used the new Polka Dot Scarf 6x8 Stencil with Paper Glaze Luze Twinkle Lights Clear to add some dimension and shine.
Now, let´s talk about these pop up bugs. I stamped the bugs from the Bugs and Kisses stamp set on thick vellum paper with Versamark and white embossing powder. I cut them with the coordinating die.
For the pop up mechanism, you´ll need a piece of acetate, like the packaging ones, a medium weight acetate. You need to cut a piece (no matter what size, but not to big since there are three bugs, a 2 by 3" will work) and folding it in half. You need to enforce the fold with a bone folder. You have a piece now with a kind of V shape. One side, you have to cut off most of it, so that one side you have a 1/4" flap, doesn´t have to be perfect. Now, instead of a V shape, you have like a check mark if you look it from the side.
Along that 1/4" flap on the outside you have to put some double sided tape but I´ll reinforce it afterwards with some strong liquid adhesive. Now you have to cut the piece of acetate in smaller pieces.
Now place the bugs where you want them to be in the card. Remove the release paper from the "foot" of the pop up mechanism and place it under one wing of one of the bugs.Press it down firmly with your bone folder, or use a little glue to help you attached there. Repeat for the other wing, letting a space between both pieces, a 1/4", depending of the bug. Put a piece of double sided tape on the back center of the vellum bug and remove the release paper. Press the adhesive so the body of the bug attaches to the space that you left between the two acetates. Again, don´t hesistate in using some liquid strong glue here too.
Now you can see how the bugs wings pop up! Cut the excess of the acetate that maybe shows from behind. Repeat the process for each bug.
I finish the card with one of the sentiments that comes with the set, stamped onto a black cardstock with white embossing powder.
I hope you liked the card and the process made sense to you! You´ll find a quick tutorial in my Instagram page.
I´ll leave you the products list above.
Thank you for reading and stopping by the blog today!
Have a nice week,
Silvana.

I stamped Sara Girl using permanent black ink and, for her top and necklace, teal ink. I did this by covering the area I didn't want to ink up with post it notes and then removed the post it notes when I was ready to stamp the image. Any lines that were missed by this stamping technique were filled in using a black micro pen.
Next, I colored her face and hair using my alcohol markers. I added red marker to her lips and then used Paper Splatter watercolor in Kiwi Lime for the butterfly. Then I die cut her and set her aside for later.
I fell in love with the scribbly heart from Swanky Friendship stamp, so I created a background by stamping the heart several times using a shade of teal ink onto a piece of white cardstock. Next, I applied the Polka Dot Scarf stencil over the hearts using Liquid Splatter watercolor in Gold. I trimmed the panel down and placed it over a 5.5x4.25 black card base. The two design elements work because one is large and bold, and the other is small and soft in color!
I wanted Sara Girl to be surrounded by flowers, so I die cut several from Sweet Cherry Blossoms and then applied teal and Kiwi Lime watercolor onto the flowers and leaves. I staged Sara Girl over the background card panel along with the flowers and leaves, and then adhered everything once I was satisfied with placement. I finished with the Love sentiment die cut in black, and gold wax over the flowers. Her lips and necklace had glossy accents to add a bit of shine. I added a few pearl sequins so that it looks like the butterfly is connected to the Love sentiment!
Mixed media cards are most successful when you limit the color palette and use a variety of mediums and shapes to add interest! Be creative with using elements like text, abstract stencils, and various geometrical shapes. Then use elements like PFS pastes, liquid splatter watercolors, and embossing powder to add texture and shine!
I'm so glad you joined me today! To find the products that I've used for my card, simply hover over the item and then click on it. You will be taken to the Picket Fence Studios shop!

Hello, crafty friends!! Brenda here with a colorful butterfly card featuring goodies from the February release!! I just love all the butterflies and bees in this release!! My card today features the Layering Fauna Butterfly Die on a rainbow foiled butterfly background from the Flutter Fly Fabulous Foiling Toner Card Front Set!!
I started by foiling the background on a panel from the Flutter Fly Fabulous Foiling Toner Card Front Set with Rainbow Flake Foil. I trimmed the top and bottom of the panel and adhered it to an A2 black cardstock panel.
Next, I die-cut the Layering Fauna Butterfly Die Set from white and black cardstock. I used Rainbow Pint-sized Paper Pouncers to add color to the inside pieces of white cardstock with Distress Oxide Inks. I used Picked Raspberry, Festive Berries, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn, Salty Ocean and wilted Violet. The outline of the butterfly was adhered to the background and the inside pieces were inlaid into the openings.
The sentiment, from the Baby Butterfly Beauties Stamp Set (which is on sale for a great price!), was white heat embossed onto black cardstock and cut out with the Coordinating Die. I also used the die-cut to cut a layer from black foam adhesive to layer behind the sentiment for dimension. It was popped up in the center of the butterfly to finish off the card.
Thank you so very much for spending a bit of your day with me!! Have a great day!!

Hello, again! It's Andrea back to share a fun card featuring the new Sugar and Calorie-Free Cake stamp. I love this set so much!
I stamped that yummy cake with Black Hybrid Ink and colored it with Copics. As I don't have the coordinating dies, I fussy-cut the image and then added highlights with a white gel pen.
For my background I inked up a panel of white cardstock with several shades of ink (the colors look more vibrant and green in real life). I placed the Inner Glow A2 Stencil over the panel and applied Red Velvet Cake Paper Glitz. Once that was dry, I flicked White Snowflake Paper Splatter across the panel and adhered the panel to a white card.
My sentiment is from the Lick the Bowl stamp. I heat-embossed it onto black cardstock, trimmed it, and adhered it and my colored image with foam tape. To finish the card, I added some Iridescent Moonshine sequins.
Thanks for stopping by!

]]>This is my inspiration card for the Wreath Building: St. Patrick´s Day stamp set.
This card has a lot of stamping, because the set has a lot of small stamps and I wanted to use them all! I started by making a 5x7" mask with some masking tape. You can use masking paper if you prefer. Then I made two cuts to make the "pathway" for the stamps. I put the two tape pieces over the corners of a 5x7" piece of cardstock leaving the central tape piece aside. I stamped all the images with Black Hybrid ink and copic colored them.
After all the stamping and coloring was done, I removed the masks from the corners and put the central piece to cover all the stamping, trying to match the edges.
After that, I put some green ink, in this case is the Lucky Clover Distress Oxide. Over the inked parts, I used some Lime Tart Paper Glitz through the A whole polka dot 6x8 stencil. This mixed media paste has the right amount of shine that St. Patrick´s deserve!
To finish it up, I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder over a black cardstock and cut it with the 2.0" Connected Circles Shaker Creator die.
I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I did.
Thank you so much for stopping by the PFS blog and taking time to read the post. I leave you the supplys list at the end of the post, but you can hover over the product name and then click on the link.

It's Colleen again and I'm sharing another birthday card using the new Wreath Building: Cupcakes for You stamp and Wreath Building: Centers and Foliage stamp. I'm also using the existing Layering Flora Happy Fern die and Tangerine and Sunlight Yellow flatback pearls!
These sets are made to create beautiful wreathes, but I wanted to combine the Wreath Building cupcake stamp and Centers & Foliage stamp into one card. So, I decided to stamp the wreaths and place the cupcakes inside of each, building a lovely background!
First, I stamped the solid circles from the Wreath Building: Centers and Foliage stamp in a dark shade of brown ink. Next, I stamped the tiny dots stamp from the set in a shade of yellow, deliberately offsetting the stamp for a playful effect! It's subtle, but those little details take your card to the next level! When I finished creating a background with the circles, I stamped a few of the mini cupcakes in the center of each circle. Then I stamped a few of the teeny tiny pieces of fruit (so adorable) from the cupcake stamp set to fill in the extra space between. I also stamped one of the leaves from the Centers and Foliage set (this set can be made into a lovely wreath as well!).
Once the stamping was complete, I colored the cupcakes and fruit. Then I trimmed the panel, setting the outer part of the panel aside, and placed the center panel over a slightly larger dark brown panel. Then I adhered both over the outer part of the panel to create a fun effect that adds interest to a one-layer card!
The remaining step was to add the sentiment, which was stamped in dark brown ink from the Cupcakes for You stamp, surrounded by the wreath stamped in yellow. I die cut the sentiment in a circle and placed it over the white Layering Flora leaf. The leaf helped the sentiment not get lost in that busy background. I finished with shimmer and glossy accents on the cupcakes as well as pearl sequins!
I love how organic the card looks! Thanks so much for joining me today! To find the products used in my blog post, hover over the product name and then click on the link. Or visit the Picket Fence Studios shop!

I began by stamping the Animal Crackers: A Little Note Stamp Set onto white cardstock with PFS Black Hybrid Ink. I used Copic markers to color it and then cut it out with its Coordinating Die. The sentiment is from the same set. It was stamped onto white cardstock with red dye ink and cut out with the Coordinating Die.
For the background, I foiled a panel from the Polka Dot Palooza Fabulous Foiling A2 Card Fronts with Gold Flake Fabulous Toner Foil using my laminator. I trimmed the panel slightly and adhered it to a panel of teal cardstock, before adhering it to an A2 white card base.
I wanted something to help draw your eye to the cute critters, so I die-cut one of the Nesting Ring Dies from gold holographic cardstock and the 2.5 Connected Circles Shaker Creator Die from teal cardstock. After adhering the circles with liquid glue, I popped the Animal Crackers image and sentiment up with foam tape to complete the card.
This card could be used for just about any occasion!! I love the sparkle and shine from the gold foil and holographic cardstock and you know how much I adore those cute little critters!!
Thanks so much for spending some time with me today!! Have a wonderful Friday and enjoy your weekend!!

Today it's all about blending the old and the new in a way that'll make your heart sing! So, if you're eager to learn fresh ideas, you've landed in the perfect spot. Let's explore the magic of using large word dies with your existing stamps, shall we? 🌟
To start our creative journey, let's breathe life into the Lemon Queen Sunflower Stamp. Use alcohol-friendly paper and ink for stamping the sunflower.
I do a light-to-dark approach using Copic Markers. For the petals, the following shades are used: Y11, Y19, YR24, and YR27. You can repeat the process as many times as necessary to achieve the desired level of vibrancy and shading.
Now we focus on coloring the center of our sunflower. Take Copic Markers in shades YR21, YR23, YR27, and E17. To achieve a textured effect, consider stippling these colors onto the center. This technique adds depth and dimension to the sunflower's heart. For an extra touch of richness in the yellow hues, you can introduce Y19 into the mix.
I colored two sunflowers because I wanted to explore different creative possibilities.
Begin by die-cutting hooraay directly into one of the sunflowers. Remember to keep all the pieces, as we'll be making two cards from this – one with the "hooray" word (the positive) and the other with the leftover pieces (the negative).
Once I'd removed the sentiment from the die, I decided to color in the white parts with B000, B04, B04 and then splatter. This is really effective and makes that image pop.
Stamp out and die cut. 'happiness looks good on you' sentiment from the Sunflower set and set aside.
Die cut 4 black hoorays and stack them as a shadow for your colored hooray die cut. Adhere to an A2 card base and attach the sentiment.
This card features the negative space. Die-cut two additional "hooray" words, one in white and one in black. Place the negative portion onto an A2 card base, using the white "hooray" word to ensure precise positioning. Then, insert the white "hooray" word into the empty space, followed by the black "hooray" word just to the right of the white one. This creates a subtle shadow effect and adds visual interest to the card.
To complete this card, stamp and die-cut one of the sentiments from the Sunflower set and adhere it to the front. This card remains flat and is perfect for easy mailing to a friend or loved one.
So you now have two cards with one sunflower image! How cool is that?! I haven't made a card in quite awhile, but it was lovely to sit at my desk and go through my stash until something inspired me! I selected the sunflower because orange is my favourite colour and I love the red/orange/yellow transition. The cards turned out beautifully, and they are stunning in real life!
Do you ever get bummed when you've lost your inspiration for cardmaking? What helps? Hopefully, I've found my spark, and I'll be back to crafting up a storm soon.
See you soon!
