Beautiful Sunsets

Beautiful Sunsets

I have been dreaming of the beach. It’s been almost three years since I have had my toes in beach sand. I love the Setting on the Sea stamp set and it makes for beautiful beach scenes. I created a sunset with the help of Life Changing Blending Brushes and Distress Oxide inks.

I started this card with the Circle Stencil and some painters tape to mask off the horizon. I then ink blended with the brushes starting with Wild Honey and moving to some Scattered Straw. I then added in some blues with Mermaid Lagoon and Wilted Violet.

Once I had the color gradients I was looking for, I moved the masking tape to the top of the horizon line and inked up the Setting on the Sea Set with the Wilted Violet ink and Mermaid Lagoon. I used my finger to smoosh the colors together where they met on the stamp to give them a more blended look and to insure there was no harsh line from where I added the two colors. I then stamped on the image and like magic I had an ocean. I then used some brown tones, Tea Dye and Weathered Wood and a touch of Wilted Violet that was left on my brush,  to add some sand. I stamped the sentiment from hello, Beautiful in Intense Black ink. I matted the finished scene with some black card stock and added it to a top folding A2 white card base.

This is why I love paper crafting. You can create just about anything your heart desires with a few simple products. I’m  grateful for the beautiful stamps and those Life Changing Brushes you can find in the PFS shop. They helped satisfy my beach loving heart today.
