Our Story

Once upon a time there was a girl who needed to color, stamp, and play with paper to wash the stress away from teaching elementary school in south Louisiana. Even though she loved her children dearly, the girl was pulled into the creative world of cardmaking, altered art, and scrapbooking.

After eighteen years of sitting on the floor teaching children to read and watching them grow, she left it behind to teach on the road.

Eight years later, Picket Fence Studios was born from the determination that she could succeed in manufacturing her own line of stamps, inks, and paper.

You see, she had two secret weapons all along- her husband and mother-in-law. They believed that she could achieve her dreams.

Picket Fence Studios is a small family owned/operated business run out of Cajun country in the most southern part of Louisiana.

Angela Bode

Hi! I’m Angie, mom of two kind and talented people, and wife to one fascinating man.  We share our home with two outrageous felines who entertain us daily. I started stamping in 2011 after picking up a rubber stamp and a blank pre-folded card set at a craft store.  After I gave my handmade gift to my daughter’s teacher, she told me about Splitcoaststampers which launched my creative journey in the world of stamping! A year later, I was invited to join my first design team and the following year, I was honored and thrilled to accept a spot on the SplitcoaststampersDirty Dozen Team!  I am passionate about creating and sharing what I learn but most of all, I treasure connecting with people through art!  I am excited and delighted to be part of the Picket Fence Design Team!

Anna Wight

Greetings from the eastern side of Washington state! I’m Anna Wight, or “SweetMissDaisy” if you find me on SplitCoastStampers.com. Growing up I had a love for horses, nature, and anything artsy, which led me to completing an Art degree at an Oregon university. I find great joy in photography, drawing, coloring, watercolor painting, and creating small art in the form of cards. My card style leans towards clean and simple, and I love using cute, whimsical images. I hope you enjoy the projects I share! Ceal Pritchett

Mom of three and wife to one very supportive husband. We currently reside in the Smoky mountains of western North Carolina with our fur baby Shih Tzu, Willis. I have always been a crafter in some form since childhood and started papercrafting in 2004. I fell in love with card making because it didn’t take months to finish a card like it did scrapbooking.  I am a clean and simple stamper and you can find me on social media by visiting my blog Simply Beautiful, on splitcoaststampers with the same username Simplybeautiful or on instagram as Cealp. I am super excited to be a part of Picket Fence Studios and can’t wait to share with you.

Heather Ruwe

Hello. My name is Heather Ruwe. I’m just a crafty gal trying to spread a little sunshine through card making. I’ve been crafting since I was very young and it has remained a constant joy in my life. Speaking of joy, I’m married to my best friend (Ted) and we have two sons (Alex and Aiden). If I’m not in my studio creating, you can find me watching really bad reality television, organizing my craft supplies, or at a concert (I’m a music junkie). I’m so honored to be on the Picket Fence Design Team. You can find my work over on my blog: https://www.handmadebyheatherruwe.com/

Ilina Crouse

Hi, I am Ilina Crouse. I live in Atlanta, GA with my wonderful husband of 13 years and our 3 little monkeys: Anna-6, Milena-5 and Jason-3. As you can see I have my hands full. During the day I work as Electrical Engineer/Bid Manager for Siemens. I know doesn’t sound fun at all, but it is (at least for me), as it involves creativity, but different kind of one. Early in the morning I am a runner( I love long distance runs and it’s a way to burn off some stress everyday life brings) and at night I am crafter.

I have been making cards since I was a little child and still lived in Macedonia (South Eastern Europe) where supplies were limited so I had to get really creative.. I love simple and clean designs and I love to experiment with different techniques and coloring mediums.I am honored (and excited beyond words) to join the Picket Fence Studios Design Team and I hope to inspire you with my creations.

Jennifer Timko

Hi! My name is Jennifer Timko and I live in Warrenton, VA, which is a small town in Northern Virginia. My husband and I have two boys who are 15 and 12. I started making cards in 2003 when I was on maternity leave with my oldest and fell in love with this hobby. I have a CAS style which helps me bring a bit of order to my ever so chaotic schedule, I think. When I’m not at a soccer field with my boys or in my craft room, I’m a pilot for United Airlines on the Airbus 319/320. I love that I get to visit many of my crafty friends as I travel. I’m thrilled to be a part of the Picket Fence Studios Design Team and look forward to sharing my projects with you!

Judy Rozema

My name is Judy Rozema and I am so happy and humbled to be a part of this amazing team! An Arizona transplant, I currently live in Central Nebraska with my husband of 36 years, our water turtle (we have had him for over twenty four years!) and our sweet Lab/Jack Russell mix, Fiona. We have two grown children and two grandchildren. By day I am the Executive Director of our Community Theatre. I love going on junk jaunts, finding interesting things to photograph, and I love traveling and finding off the beaten path places. I love the hearts of fellow stampers – such sweet people! I have been crafting for a very long time, as my mom was an avid crafter. She probably started me on the journey, when she taught me to crochet in high school. I love mixed media, clean and simple, and everything inbetween. You can find me hanging out at my blog, Joy in a JAR, and on Facebook and Instagram by the same name! I am excited to share Picket Fence Studios with you!

Lisa Henke

Hello from Cincinnati, Ohio. I live here with my husband, three amazing boys (11, 14 and 16), and our two handsome Golden Retrievers. I’m always on the go, keeping up with the crazy school and sports schedules. It’s a season of life that seems to be flying by! In addition to my soccer mom duties, I also hold two part time jobs-preschool teaching assistant and athletic trainer. In the midst of the chaos, I NEED my crafty time. It all started 20 years ago at a party. I am card maker, but have done a fair share of scrapbooking over the years. I love that I can color and get my girly fix through paper crafting. I am fortunate to be working on several design teams and am thrilled to be joining the Picket Fence Studios Design Team.

I also have a love for chocolate, photography, decorating birthday parties and baking. I have a blog called “Little Blessings” where I share all my creations. My style leans towards artsy cards and I love using floral stamps. I like trying new techniques and using different materials on my projects. I’m so excited to have joined this team and start sharing some inspiration.

Jana Millen

I have always loved making hand crafted items. I started with needlepoint and cross stitch when I was young, as I was taught by my grandmother to love these things. Over the years I have evolved to stamping and card making and have enjoyed it for over a decade. I love pushing my creativity beyond what I ever expected I could do, often inspired by other amazing artists/stampers. By far one of the best things about this craft is the friendships – getting together with friends to craft and meeting new people along the way. I am blessed that many of my closest friends are those whose paths I would never have crossed had I not been a paper crafter. When I am not crafting I am working as an Office Manager or playing with my cats Gracie and Kirby.
